What happens
A dying surgeon hires Paladin to find a young doctor he wronged ten years ago by falsely blaming him for a patient's death, ruining the doctor's career and causing him to abandon his family. Paladin's search takes him upriver into hostile Indian territory, where he survives an attack on a riverboat and must help an injured scout find safety.
San Francisco in 1875; the Missouri River in Sioux territory; a burning riverboat and the surrounding wilderness.
Characters: Paladin, Miss Wong, The dying surgeon, Benjamin Tubbs, An Indian woman
Listen for: A riverboat attack by hostile Indians using fire arrows; Paladin's escape into the water with the injured scout; the arrival of an Indian woman who speaks the Sioux language.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
