What happens

Paladin is hired by Tom Carter, a show promoter who has signed the famous frontierswoman Ella West to perform in his traveling exhibition. Carter fears that Ella's wild and unrefined behavior will ruin his show before it even opens, and he asks Paladin to tame her into the legendary romantic figure that audiences expect to see.

A traveling show's camp or venue in the Old West, 1958.

Characters: Paladin, Ella West, Tom Carter, Tracy Calvert

Listen for: Paladin's attempts to manage the headstrong and sharp-tongued Ella West, who immediately clashes with him and resists his efforts to refine her behavior.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
