What happens

Paladin accepts a $3,000 job from Sheriff Eggers to track down Fred Lormer, who killed a man in Little Spring and fled across the state line. The sheriff demands Lormer be brought back alive within four days to stand trial, but Paladin discovers the victim was the son of Jim Radford, a reform candidate running against the sheriff in an upcoming election.
