What happens

When a cattle-buying trip goes wrong, young Jesse Wells discovers his companion Al Morley has been knifed to death and $10,000 in cash is missing. All signs point to Red Lawson, who was supposed to be part of the trip. Marshal Dillon must track down Lawson before he escapes the territory.

Dodge City, Kansas and the surrounding cattle country, late at night and into the early morning

Characters: Matt Dillon, Chester, Ava Morley, Red Lawson, Jesse Wells, Al Morley, Kitty

Listen for: The discovery of Al Morley's body by the campfire and the revelation of the stolen $10,000; Matt Dillon's plans to track Red Lawson using the train to Abilene.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
