What happens

Matt Dillon, the United States Marshal, comes across a stranded wagon driver named Mike Blocker on the prairie near Dodge City. Mike's team has run off after a broken whippletree, and he suspects two cowboys, Plumber and Webb, of playing pranks on him, including sawing through a bar and cutting a saddle. Dillon learns that the two men have threatened Mike ahead of his wedding the next day, and he sets out to speak with them. Gunsmoke aired on CBS Radio on January 16, 1954, with William Conrad in the lead role. The episode, as transcribed, follows Dillon as he moves through the saloons and hotel of Dodge looking for the pair and warning them to keep away from the wedding.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
