What happens

Marshal Dillon is summoned by a young man named Bud Griek to arrest his father, who has allegedly killed a stranger near their home out in the country. Dillon and Chester ride out to investigate the shooting and meet Bud's mother, a harsh woman who seems unconcerned about the death.

Dodge City and the surrounding frontier countryside, including the Griek family's sparse homestead with a one-room house and potato cellar.
