What happens

A brash young deputy from California named Crowley Tobin arrives in Dodge City seeking the outlaw Jess Ricker, wanted for stage robbery and murder. Tobin refuses Marshal Dillon's assistance and insists on making the arrest himself, but when he confronts Ricker in the Long Branch Saloon, the experienced gunman easily overpowers the inexperienced lawman in a fight.

Dodge City, Kansas - the marshal's office, saloons, and the Long Branch Saloon

Characters: Matt Dillon, Chester, Doc, Crowley Tobin, Jess Ricker, Kitty

Listen for: A confrontation between an overconfident young deputy and a dangerous outlaw; Marshal Dillon's wisdom about law enforcement versus youthful pride

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
