What happens

Marshal Matt Dillon investigates a stagecoach holdup and murder near Wagon Bed Springs. The driver suspects the station owner Jesse Daggett may be involved with the road agent, but Dillon finds Daggett unwilling to cooperate. A mysterious cowboy named Nat Pilcher arrives at the station, claiming to be an old friend of Daggett's.
