They encounter a man driving old man Granby's horses but acting suspiciously—he carries no gun, won't help return the animals, and tries to flee when questioned. Dillon brings him in to confront Granby and determine what's really going on.
The Kansas prairie near old man Granby's place, and later at Granby's house
Characters: Matt Dillon, Chester, Granby, The stranger cowboy
Listen for: A tense confrontation between Marshal Dillon and a mysterious cowboy who won't explain why he's driving another man's horses or carry a gun like other men in the territory.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
