What happens

Mr. Gildersleeve prepares his household for Easter after Leroy asks for help finding the Twenty-third Psalm, a question that leads him to Dr. Horton, the minister. Gildersleeve decides to hold a family discussion about the holiday's meaning with Leroy and his friends. Bertie, Judy and Peavey help arrange the living room, and the evening opens with a hymn and questions about why Easter's date changes each year. Dr. Horton then begins to tell the story of Easter, starting with the events leading to the crucifixion. The Great Gildersleeve is an NBC radio series, and this episode aired on April 16, 1957, with Willard Waterman in the lead role.
