What happens
Gildersleeve is annoyed when his Aunt Hattie Forrester monopolizes the upstairs bathroom and the household with her preparations, and he discovers she has become infatuated with Judge Hooker. Gildersleeve confronts the judge in his office, asking about his intentions toward Hattie, and the judge deflects with teasing about Gildersleeve's own failures with women. Later, Doc Martin tells Hattie that the judge is a notorious ladies' man, but Hattie insists on defending him. Hattie shows Doc Martin a letter she believes came from the judge, setting up a misunderstanding that the episode leaves unresolved.
The Gildersleeve household and the judge's office in Summerfield, around Washington's Birthday.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
