What happens
Throughout a series of domestic events, Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve looks after his ward Leroy and his niece Marjorie in their Summerfield home. Aunt Hattie Forrester, his sister-in-law's relative, has been staying with the household, and the children are delighted to hear she is finally leaving. Gildersleeve, however, learns that she has other plans, and she begins to take a close interest in the family's affairs, including the question of what would happen to the children if he died. Meanwhile, Gildersleeve has promised to attend a meeting of the Jolly Boys Social Club, and his friends gather at the club and try to pass the evening. This episode of The Great Gildersleeve aired on NBC on February 18, 1945, and stars Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle.
