What happens
Marjorie Gildersleeve announces she wants a job, and her husband Bronco objects strongly while her uncle, Judge Hooker, and the Great Gildersleeve look on. The Great Gildersleeve is a radio comedy series; this episode first aired on NBC on September 26, 1951, with Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle in the lead roles. Household tension builds as the family argues over the plan and Gildersleeve's schemes grow more elaborate.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
