What happens
Gildersleeve prepares for the annual election of president of the Jolly Boys Club, confident he will be re-elected despite a rival, Judge Hooker, who is plotting his own bid for the office. Gildersleeve seeks an idea to top the judge and takes inspiration from his nephew Leroy's team practice, where players offer one another honest criticism. At the meeting, the group tries this method, and the discussion quickly turns into a quarrel among the members. This 1951 episode of The Great Gildersleeve, broadcast on NBC on October 3, 1951, stars Harold Peary, with Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
