What happens
Gildersleeve wants to be re-elected president of the Jolly Boys Club, the men's social club in Summerfield. The episode of The Great Gildersleeve first aired on NBC on October 3, 1951, with Harold Peary and Willard Waterman in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
