What happens
Leroy Gildersleeve wants to transfer to a junior high across town, and his uncle, Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve, suspects a girl is behind the request. Leroy's new friend Josephine McCoy, known as Joe or Mac, turns out to wear blue jeans, climb onto roofs and skate with a flair that surprises the household. Gildersleeve is determined to meet her, sending Peavey and his neighbors into the mix while Leroy's behavior grows more puzzling. The episode is part of the long-running comedy series The Great Gildersleeve, first broadcast on NBC on September 2, 1953, starring Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
