What happens
Gildersleeve, a bachelor who prizes family ties, lives next door to his niece Marjorie and her young son Ronnie. When Ronnie's high spirits lead to noisy mischief in the kitchen, Gildersleeve decides to correct the boy and clashes with Marjorie and Bronco over how Ronnie should be raised. Ronnie's behavior and his uncle's firmness cause friction across the neighborhood, and Gildersleeve tries to repair things with a series of gifts and visits. The Great Gildersleeve is an NBC radio comedy, broadcast on September 9, 1953, and starring Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
