What happens

Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve, returning from a night at the Summerfield Jolly Boys Club with his friends, is called to Leila Ransom's house after she reports a prowler in her kitchen. Gildersleeve arrives armed and determined to find the intruder, and the search through the house leads to mounting confusion and a startling mishap. The station's rebroadcast of The Great Gildersleeve, which first aired on NBC on March 18, 1945, stars Harold Peary, with Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle also in the cast. The story follows Gildersleeve and his friends as they try to make sense of the night's events and what the widow Ransom believes she heard.

Listen for: Leila's reports of noises in her kitchen and Gildersleeve's search through the house

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
