What happens
Gildersleeve, the water commissioner, is smitten with the pretty nurse Catherine Milford, but his plans for a romantic full-moon evening go awry. Meanwhile his niece Marjorie tries to win back her beau Bronco, and Gildersleeve gives her uncle-like advice about playing it cool. When Catherine begins seeing a new young intern, Dr. Clarence Olson, Gildersleeve grows anxious and jealous, and he decides to drop by her house to leave a note. The Great Gildersleeve, from NBC, first aired on 1949-10-26 and stars Harold Peary.
Summerfield, a small town, in autumn around Halloween, including the water department, Elm Street, the Gildersleeve household, Peavey's cigar store and Catherine's house.

Listen for: Gildersleeve's jealousy over Catherine's new suitor, Dr. Olson, and his clumsy attempt to leave a note at her house.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
