What happens
Gildersleeve sells his house to a real estate agent, Gladys Wheeler, for twelve thousand dollars, believing he can buy a cheaper one. When he tries to find a new home, he discovers no suitable houses are available and that the sale was not properly approved. His family, his barber Floyd Munson, and his friend Judge Horace Hooker all become involved as he searches for somewhere to live. The Great Gildersleeve is a long-running NBC radio comedy, and this episode aired on October 1, 1944, starring Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
