What happens

Gildersleeve is the lead character of this episode of The Great Gildersleeve, a radio comedy from 1946. On a Saturday, with no playmates available, Leroy is scolded by his guardian Gildersleeve after he and Piggy shout at each other and then refuses to share his snow fort with Craig Bullard. A snowball fight leaves Craig hurt, and Gildersleeve punishes Leroy. Craig's uncle Bullard arrives in a rage, and the neighbors' feud flares up. Gildersleeve, Bertie and Marjorie also deal with a lemon pie and some mix-ups over shopping. The series aired on NBC, and its lead actors are Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle.

Gildersleeve's home and the surrounding neighborhood in a small American town, over a Saturday and Sunday in winter.

Characters: Gildersleeve, Leroy, Marjorie, Bertie, Craig Bullard, Piggy, Bullard, Ralph

Listen for: Gildersleeve scolding Leroy for his rudeness, and the escalating argument between Gildersleeve and Mr. Bullard over Craig's injured eye.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
