What happens
Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve learns that his distant cousin Emily is coming to stay for a couple of days, a relative he had almost forgotten. The household reacts with mixed feelings: Leroy resents the interruption, Bertie frets over the guest room, and Gildersleeve tries to keep his authority in the house. When Emily arrives at the station, she turns out to be charming and outgoing, quickly winning over Judge Hooker and Leroy. The story is part of The Great Gildersleeve, a radio series broadcast on NBC on August 27, 1952, starring Harold Peary and Willard Waterman.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
