What happens
The Great Gildersleeve follows his young nephew Leroy, who decides to earn money by starting a laundry business after a morning idea. Leroy sets up the Million Dollar Laundry in the basement of the Gildersleeve house, collecting shirts from the town's men, including the Commissioner's friends. Uncle Gildersleeve offers him advice and takes an interest in the venture, while Bertie the housekeeper grows upset at the mess in her basement. Leroy's enterprise soon runs into trouble when the shirts are mixed together and no one can tell which belongs to whom. The story is part of the long-running NBC series, first broadcast on August 20, 1952, with Harold Peary and the regular cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
