What happens

Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve decides to start his Christmas shopping early, though his nephew Leroy keeps pressing him for a model airplane. At Hogan Brothers Department Store he buys a necktie for Judge Hooker, gets sidetracked by the toy department, and finds himself carrying packages for Mrs. Peavey while his list grows longer. Harold Peary stars in this December 1947 episode of The Great Gildersleeve, first broadcast on NBC on December 10, 1947, with Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle in the cast. Gildersleeve's plans keep slipping as the store's crowds, errands and distractions pile up.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
