What happens
Gildersleeve learns from a letter, opened by mistake, that his neighbor Bronco Mad is buying property in Center City, and he assumes the family is planning to move away. Believing he has been left out of a major decision, he begins to interfere in the affairs of Bronco and Marjorie. Mr. Peavey, a pharmacist and friend, is drawn into the situation during a late evening of games while Bronco is away. The story is part of the long-running radio series The Great Gildersleeve, first broadcast on NBC on January 27, 1954. Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle are among the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
