What happens
Mr. Gildersleeve grows concerned when his nephew Leroy's grades slip and his attitude worsens. He phones Leroy's teacher, Miss Tuttle, and visits her classroom to observe Leroy. Afterward he meets her at Peavey's drugstore, where she is unwilling to take much responsibility for his puppy love. Mr. Gildersleeve, meanwhile, seems more interested in defending his own independence than in his nephew's studies. The episode is an installment of The Great Gildersleeve, broadcast on NBC on February 3, 1954, with Harold Peary and Willard Waterman in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
