What happens
Gildersleeve's nephew Leroy badly wants to attend the annual football classic between State University and the Aggies in Summerfield. Gildersleeve promises to take him, but when the tickets sell out he calls off the plan, and Leroy is left disappointed. Gildersleeve's romantic plans with Lila Ransom also run into trouble as she accepts a surprise invitation to the game from Judge Hooker. Gildersleeve then has to find another way to get seats for the game, and the episode follows his attempts to get tickets through the box office and his friends. The Great Gildersleeve is a radio comedy from NBC, first broadcast on November 25, 1945, starring Harold Peary.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
