What happens
Fred Allen, in his radio program's comic sketch, takes a room at the Nelson house after a newspaper ad for a quiet vacation rental. The Nelsons, Oswald and Harriet, have rented out their boys' room for fifty dollars a month so they can afford a camping trip. Allen, a radio comedian, eats enormous breakfasts and keeps late hours, and the couple begin to regret the arrangement. Their scheme to drive him out with noise and cooking complaints is set against his cheerful appetite. The Fred Allen Show, a radio comedy program, aired on June 15, 1947, with Fred Allen, Portland Hoffa, Kenny Delmar and Minerva Pious among the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
