What happens

Captain Lee Quins receives orders to find Sitting Bull in Montana territory and deliver an invitation to a parley before winter sets in. With only six conflicting scout reports and outdated information, Quins sets out with a small patrol of twelve men, pushing through difficult terrain toward the Black Hills to locate the Sioux leader.

Montana territory, 1880s frontier; Black Hills region, a remount station, and the surrounding wilderness

Characters: Captain Lee Quins, Major, Corporal, Lieutenant Cybert, Dunsett, Corporal Harris

Listen for: Discussion of the legendary Sioux leader Sitting Bull and the challenges of finding him; descriptions of frontier life at the remount station and the difficulties of patrolling vast, hostile Indian country.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
