What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly host a buffet supper at their Wistful Vista home to show their friends they are not broke. Fibber and Molly fuss over the food, the chairs and the guests, while Doc Gildersleeve, Mrs. Uppington, Mr. Boomer and others arrive and mingle. Little problems keep piling up as the evening goes on, from a guppy mix-up to a sick guest and a telephone call that gets overheard. The party grows noisy and busy, with the guests trying to keep things going until the night's final turn. This is a 1941 episode of the NBC radio series Fibber McGee and Molly, first broadcast on March 4, 1941, starring Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
