What happens

Fibber McGee and Molly clear out their hall closet after Mrs. Uppington, chairwoman of the Wistful Vista Reclamation Committee, asks residents to find materials the government can use. Among the castoffs they sort are an aluminum coffee pot, an old ukulele, a steel helmet and a kitchen sink, while Mr. Wilcox looks on. Molly keeps stopping to reminisce over each item, and Fibber tries to hurry the job along. Mayor LaTrivia drops by to mention a magazine article about the couple. The episode is a 1942 broadcast of the Fibber McGee and Molly radio series on NBC, with Harold Peary and Bill Thompson in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
