What happens
Fibber McGee visits a doctor who orders him to give up tobacco for a week and follow a bland diet. Molly sets him up with a secret remedy and hides his cigars, but McGee keeps trying to sneak a smoke while she is out of the room. Their neighbor Mr. Gildersleeve and the boastful Mrs. Uppington also come up as McGee's cravings grow. Fibber McGee and Molly is a radio comedy from NBC, first broadcast on October 8, 1940, with Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan in the lead roles.
A doctor's office, then the McGee home and the streets of the neighborhood.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
