What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly visit a bowling alley, where Fibber's cousin-like sparring with the staff leads to a broken cigar counter. Fibber then tries to teach Molly to bowl, and his thumb becomes stuck in a bowling ball. Desperate to avoid embarrassment, the couple sneak the heavy ball out of the alley and head home, meeting neighbors and passersby who notice the odd situation. Fibber's attempts to free his hand take him from a friendly fellow's office to a doctor's waiting room, where more chatter and mishaps follow. The episode is from the NBC radio series Fibber McGee and Molly, first broadcast June 1, 1943, with Harold Peary and Bill Thompson among the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
