What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly, the NBC radio comedy, opens on a summer afternoon at 79 Wistful Vista. Fibber reads a newspaper article claiming that acting happy makes a person happy and healthy, and he resolves to smile his way through life. His wife Molly doubts him. Fibber then meets a string of visitors, including a magazine saleswoman, a heartbroken old-timer, and a neighbor named Mrs. Uppington, each of whom he tries to cheer with optimistic advice. His cheer soon grows tiresome to the people around him, and his plan begins to wear thin.

Characters: Fibber McGee, Molly McGee, Old-Timer, Mrs. Uppington, Mr. Wilcox, Dr. Gamble
Listen for: Fibber's claim that a happy face makes a happy body, and Molly's skeptical replies.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
