What happens
Fibber McGee comes home late with a black eye and insists he bumped into a door in the dark, but his wife Molly does not believe him. Fibber visits the doctor and runs into neighbors and friends who each want to know how he got hurt. The story is part of the Fibber McGee and Molly series, first broadcast on NBC Radio on November 12, 1940, with Harold Peary and Bill Thompson among the performers. Fibber's repeated denials of any fight make the matter a running joke around town.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
