What happens

Fibber McGee and Molly, from the Fibber McGee and Molly series, serve as election officials at their home polling place in Wistful Vista, where the Good Government Club has offered $250 if every registered voter in their precinct casts a ballot. The episode aired on NBC Radio on November 5, 1940, with Harold Peary and Bill Thompson in the lead roles. Fibber and Molly struggle to round up the remaining voters, dealing with eccentric neighbors and a series of comic mix-ups at the polls. Between scenes, radio bulletins report early and incomplete election returns from around the country, adding to the sense of a close national race. As the clock runs down toward closing time, Fibber and Molly press the last few residents to vote.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
