What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly decide to cut their evenings short and go to bed early at 8:30, planning ten hours of sleep. Their plan keeps getting interrupted: a young neighbor girl wants to talk about summer and the pixies, Uncle Dennis is napping in the next room, and Mrs. Abigail Uppington arrives with a car that has broken down in front of the house. Fibber, who has a long history of tinkering with motors, offers to help, and the night continues with more visitors and mishaps. This episode of Fibber McGee and Molly, first broadcast on NBC Radio on February 18, 1941, stars Harold Peary and Bill Thompson, with Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
