What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly, an NBC Radio comedy broadcast on March 23, 1943, stars Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan. Fibber McGee has been appointed to collect money for the Red Cross War Fund on his street, with a quota of fifty dollars that he doubles to one hundred. He quickly runs into his neighbors, including Mrs. Uppington and Mr. Wilcox, and he tries to raise the money through games of chance and wagers. Meanwhile Mr. McGee writes a series of personal checks, and his efforts to cover them lead him and Molly to visit the bank to see Mr. McDonald.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
