What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly receive an urgent telephone message about a deal worth $50,000 that must be answered by the next day. Molly took the message down in shorthand, but neither she nor Fibber can read her notes, and the caller's name, Jim, means nothing to them. Fibber rushes around the neighborhood asking friends and acquaintances for help, while Molly hunts through old shorthand materials and remembers her college training. The episode is from the Fibber McGee and Molly series, first broadcast on NBC Radio on October 7, 1941, with Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan among the cast. Fibber consults several people, each with a different suggestion, and the transcript of this part ends before the problem is resolved.
The McGee home and the surrounding neighborhood, then the business college where Fibber and Molly once studied.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
