What happens

Margaret Anderson is named the model mother of the Springfield Parents Association, and writer Mrs. J. Suzanne Laslow is due to visit the family home on Maple Street to observe it for an article. Before the visit, Margaret rushes to tidy the house while her husband Jim is irritated by the chaos around him. Her children Betty, Kathy and Bud each become entangled in a set of pipes they took, and Jim's attempt at a man-to-man talk with Bud goes awry. Margaret must keep the family in order while the visit approaches. The episode is from the Father Knows Best series, first broadcast on 13 November 1952, starring Robert Young.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
