What happens
Jim Anderson, a father in Springfield, is preparing for a golf match against his friend Ed Davis, a contest that could decide a tournament place. Meanwhile his children, Betty, Bud and Kathy, are caught up in their own troubles, including a broken garage window and Betty's wish for a new dress for a school play. Jim's family and his household routine press in on him as the day moves along, and he sets out to make the match on his own terms. The episode is part of the Father Knows Best radio series, first broadcast on May 11, 1950, with Robert Young starring as Jim Anderson.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
