What happens
Father Knows Best follows the Anderson family in Springfield, where Jim Anderson and his wife Margaret raise their children Betty, Bud and Kathy. Bud is involved in a minor car mishap, but the trouble that dominates this episode is a stray dog. Kathy takes in a large, friendly dog who turns out to belong to Michael Reed, whose chauffeur keeps returning the animal. The dog, named Gargantua the Third, keeps wandering back to the Anderson house, causing grief for Jim, who is also upset over damaged rose bushes. The episode aired on May 4, 1950, and stars Robert Young as Jim Anderson.
