What happens

Jim Anderson is offered a district supervisor job in New York, and he brings the news home to his wife Margaret and their children, Betty, Bud and Kathy. The family is divided: the children worry about leaving their friends and clubs in Springfield, while Jim is excited about the promotion. Neighbors Hector Smith and Ed Davis are called in for advice, and each gives Jim a different opinion. As the family argues over whether to move, Jim must decide what matters most to them. The episode is part of the Father Knows Best radio series, first broadcast on May 31, 1951, starring Robert Young.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
