On a Sunday morning in Springfield, Jim Anderson, a district insurance man, is eager to impress Walter Craig, the general manager visiting from the home office, and invites him and a colleague to stay for dinner. His wife Margaret is unprepared, and the household, including the children Betty, Bud and Kathleen, quickly grows chaotic. Father Knows Best is a radio family comedy starring Robert Young, and this episode aired on March 29, 1951. A pair of reporters soon arrive, following a newspaper report that Jim has won a love letter contest, a surprise that unsettles the visiting executives.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
