What happens
Jim and Margaret Anderson of Springfield prepare for a busy Thanksgiving Day with their three children, Betty, Bud and Kathy. Kathy is set to read her winning fourth-grade poem at a school contest, but the household is noisy and frazzled as everyone argues over clothes, borrowed suitcases and plans for the day. Jim grows impatient with the chaos while Margaret tries to keep the peace. The episode from the Father Knows Best series, first broadcast on November 23, 1950, stars Robert Young as Jim Anderson.
