What happens
Archie, the tavern regular, visits Duffy's Tavern and talks with Miss Duffy and the Mad Russian about the circus. Archie boasts of past circus days and decides he wants to become a lion tamer, offering the Russian and Miss Duffy a series of odd theories about lions and psychology. Later a circus manager named Flugel arrives looking for a new assistant, and the conversation turns to animals, bargains and the dog Rover. Duffy's Tavern is the series' Friday night installment, first broadcast April 20, 1951, with Ed Gardner as Archie, Shirley Booth and Charlie Cantor in the regular cast.
