What happens
Duffy's Tavern is closing, and Archie, the manager, tries to talk Duffy into staying while Eddie, the waiter, is pleased by the news of Ransom Sherman's radio show. Ransom Sherman arrives at the tavern, and Archie pitches himself as a panelist for the show's mock court, the Knitwit Court. The guests and staff argue over who should join the jury and how the court should work. Duffy's tavern is the setting for the gossip, jokes and bargaining. Episode 58 of the Duffy's Tavern series was first broadcast on June 27, 1944 with Ed Gardner, Shirley Booth, Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop among the lead actors.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
