What happens
At Duffy's Tavern, Archie and his regulars push a war bond drive, with a prize of meeting the mayor and governor for the top seller. Clancy the cop drops in to announce the contest, and Archie's fast-talking scheme to sell bonds gets noisy. Boris Karloff arrives as a guest and is recruited to perform a horror play Archie has written, which the regulars are eager to stage at the rally. The episode is part of the OTRR Duffy's Tavern Singles series, first aired on January 12, 1945, on CBS, NBC Blue and NBC, with Ed Gardner, Shirley Booth, Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
