What happens
At Duffy's Tavern, Archie and Finnegan talk with Miss Billy Burke, who is a guest on the program tonight. Archie presses Duffy for a raise, and Eddie Duffy takes a call about a war bond drive. Finnegan is excited to meet Miss Burke, and a crackpot character reveals his plan to give up crime and settle down. Talk turns to marriage, and Archie sets up a meeting between crackpot and Billy Burke, pushing him toward a proposal. The crackpot rehearses a proposal with Finnegan while Eddie tries to keep the bond-buying plan on track. Originally broadcast in 1944 on CBS, NBC Blue and NBC, the series stars Ed Gardner and Shirley Booth.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
