What happens

Archie, the narrator of Duffy's Tavern, is writing a lecture on men's clothing for the film star Adolphe Menjou, who is to speak to the Policeman's Tuesday Night Foot Bath and Discussion Club at the tavern. Duffy, the tavern owner, is keen to take on a French singer named Yvette, and Archie's own singing is dismissed. Clifton Finnegan arrives with a question about whether to wear gold or silver studs with a full dress suit. Menjou arrives and is introduced to the regulars, and the sixteen policemen gather for the meeting. The guide ends with the lecture beginning and the officers gathering for it.

Characters: Archie, Duffy, Eddie, Clifton Finnegan, Adolphe Menjou, Yvette, Clancy

Listen for: Archie reading his lecture on men's clothing to the policemen's club, and Menjou's reaction to it

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
